Sting The Dream Of The Blue Turtles

Sting Debut Album Front

The Dream Of The Blue Turtles was the solo debut album of the British pop singer-songwriter Sting. It was released in the United States om June 1, 1985, a year after The Police Disbanded. The album was recorded from 1984 up to 1985 at Blue Wave Studio, Saint Philip, Barbados and Le Studio , Morin-Heights, Quebec, Canada. Album length is 41:40. Most of the song in the vinyl record album were pop rock songs in general. The vinyl record album was produced by Sting and Pete Smith and was released under the A&M Record Label. The copy that i have is a US vinyl pressing.

The vinyl album released a number of singles. The first one was If You Love Somebody Set Them Free peaked at number 3 in the US but it was a flop in UK. The song Russians was more popular in the UK. The song Love Is The Seventh Wave is one of my favorite songs not only in the album but all of the songs of Sting and The Police as well. In 1986 the album was nominated for a Grammy and Sting was also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performer for the male category. The album also peaked at number 2 in the US Billboard 200 Charts and number 3 at the UK album charts in 1986.

The front cover artwork shows a picture of Sting in a black and white color setting. The back cover on the other hand shows the track list and 2 random pictures at the lower right side. at the center near the bottom you can see some writings of Sting about the album and the people who helped him record it.  The vinyl record cover that is in my possession had some tear near the upper right and lower right of the cover the rest is in good condition. The vinyl record is still very clean there was no visible scratches on it and it played very well without skips and surface noise. I just wiped the dirt off with soap and cotton cloth. and then played it on my turntable to my delight the sounds were crisp and beautiful.
