Lynyrd Skynyrd debut album “Prounounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd” was released in August 13, 1973. The album features some of their  most well known songs like Gimme Three Steps, Tuesday’s Gone, Simple Man and Free Bird. The latter song launched the band to stardom. The album was released under the MCA Record label and it was produced by Al Kooper. total length of the album was 43:03.  Their music is a fusion of southern rock, boogie rock, blues rock, country rock, and hard rock. Just like the Allman Brothers, they epitomized Southern Rock. They were nothing but rockers and southern rockers to the bone. They were some of the first bands who fused together the different rock genres of the south and the total result was beautiful music. Through this a new rock genre was born. the album peaked at the Billboard hot 200 at number 27  in 1975. The cover art for the debut album of Lynyrd Skynyrd featured all the band members. From left to right Leon Wilkeson, Billie Powell, Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, and Ed King.  The picture for the cover of the album was taken on Main Street in Jonesboro, Georgia. In 2003 the Lynyrd Skynyrd debut album was ranked 401 o Rolling Stones Magazine’s list of 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time and has sold an estimated 2 million copies internationally.
